Ancient China

The first part of ancient china history is based on chinese mythology. The latter part from Xia dynasty onwards is based on archaeological evidence.

Mausoleum of Emperor Tang of the Shang Dynasty

The cenotaph of Emperor Tang of the Shang Dynasty was built during the Ming Dynasty. Emperor Tang of the Shang Dynasty was the founder of teh dynasty and ruled for 13 years. Bozhou was believed to be burial place of the Emperor.

There are several locations where the Mausoleum of Emperor Tang are found in Cao County in Shangdong Province, Linyao Village of Shanhua Town Yanshi City in Henan Province, Wanrong county in Shanxi Province. Historians believe the actual Mausoleum is in Cao County in Shangdong Province.

Yinxu, Anyang City, Henan Province

Yinxu is the site of the last capital of Shang Dynasty. Among the discovery is the oracle bones and script that is teh earliest form of chinese writing.

Western Zhou dynasty

1046 to 771 BC

Western Zhou dynasty

China entered its bronze age during this time. Feudal system was used to rule the land. The states eventually became too pwoer and caused the end of western Zhou dynasty.

Eastern Zhou dynasty Spring and Autumn Period

770 to 476 BC

Confucius Temple, Cemetery and Kong Family Masion, Qufu City, Shandong Province

Confucius (551 - 479 BC) was born in the Lu state. The philosophy developed influcence east asia thinking and still practise today.

Eastern Zhou dynasty Warring States Period

475 to 221 BC
A period with 7 major warring states fighting to win control over entire China.

256BC, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Dujianyan City, Sichuan Province

Dujiangyan Irrigation System was built by State of Qin's Li Bin. It controls flooding and diverts water to farmlands.
